EHR Integration

PointClickCare Integration

Connect Epithel directly into PointClickCare so wound rounding, Braden scoring, and photo documentation flow seamlessly into your existing EHR workflow.

Partner Application in Progress

Epithel is actively working through the PointClickCare Marketplace Partner Program. The integration will be available once partnership and certification are complete. Facilities cannot yet install Epithel from the PCC Marketplace — this page is a preview of the installation process.

What syncs between systems

Bidirectional data flow keeps resident records consistent and removes double entry.

Resident Sync
Pull resident demographics, admissions, and room assignments from PCC into Epithel automatically.
  • Name & DOB
  • Admission dates
  • Room / bed assignment
  • Active status
Clinical Data
Pull relevant diagnoses and allergies from PCC to enrich wound assessment context.
  • Diagnoses & ICD codes
  • Allergies
  • Vitals (optional)
Assessments Back to PCC
Push completed wound assessments, Braden scores, and care plans back into PointClickCare for compliance and reporting.
  • Wound assessments
  • Braden scale scores
  • Care plan notes

Installation Guide

Once Epithel is available in the PointClickCare Marketplace, follow these steps to connect your facility.

1

Open the PCC Marketplace

Log in to PointClickCare as a facility administrator. Navigate to the Marketplace tab in your admin dashboard.

2

Find & Enable Epithel

Search for "Epithel" in the Marketplace. Click the app tile, review the data scope permissions, and click Enable.

3

Approve Data Scopes

PointClickCare will prompt you to approve which data Epithel can access: Resident Demographics, Clinical Data, and Write-Back permissions. Review and confirm.

4

Copy Your Facility Org ID

After enabling, PCC generates a facility-specific Organization UUID. Copy this value — you will paste it into Epithel during setup.

5

Connect in Epithel

Sign in to Epithel as a facility admin, go to Settings Integrations, paste your PCC Org ID, and click Connect. Epithel will verify the link and begin syncing residents.

6

Map Users & Go Live

Match Epithel clinicians to their PCC user accounts for SSO. Once mapped, clinicians can launch Epithel directly from a resident's PCC profile with the resident already loaded.

Launch URLs to register in the PCC Marketplace
When Epithel is submitted to the PCC Marketplace, PointClickCare needs three URLs. Copy these into the partner console:
  • Embedded Launch URL: https://epithelcare.life/pcc/launch
  • OAuth Redirect URI: https://epithelcare.life/smart/callback
  • Standalone Sign-In: https://epithelcare.life/pcc/standalone

Epithel uses standard SMART-on-FHIR (OAuth 2.0 + PKCE) so PCC clinicians sign in with their existing PCC credentials — no separate password. Wound assessments post back as FHIR Observation resources; treatment orders post back as FHIR ServiceRequest resources; AI care-plan narratives post as FHIR DocumentReference progress notes.
